This tea is from Shizuoka on the Fujiyama Mountain slopes where half of the Japanese tea is produced. This particular sencha is harvested in the Fall. Stalks and broken pieces are removed by hand, Sencha means steamed tea. This tea is carefully processed before rolling and drying. Thus, the leaf obtains a very fine and fragile structure. Infusion has a shimmering, light olive green color and a distinct taste with a dominate note in the after taste for those that like strong green tea. Beside the taste characteristics, this high quality tea is also quite cost effective.
Ingredients: Green Japanese sencha.
Pour just steaming water (176-194F) over one heaping teaspoon of tea per 6oz. serving, steep 1-3 minutes to taste.
